Our Directors

Amy Seifert is a native of Leavenworth, Kansas. She graduated from Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree with emphasis in piano and voice and had a 20+ year career in church music ministry serving churches in Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and Utah. As a director of music, her choirs were selected to participate in festivals held in Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center as well as in Rome and Paris.

Amy has been ringing handbells for 30 years and directing choirs for 25. Under her direction, The Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church Wesley Ringers served as the resident bell choir for the Southern Utah Heritage Choir in St. George, Utah.

Amy was ordained as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church in 2014 and as an Elder in 2018. She serves as the pastor of Central United Methodist Church in Lawrence, Kansas. She and her husband have two grown children, a grandson arriving in July 2023 and three extremely spoiled fur babies.

Becky Harris, spending her early years in Michigan, started playing bells in a neighborhood church with her friends from orchestra class from fifth through 10th grades.  That group attended two AGEHR AREA 5 festivals as youth ringers.  She picked them back up in 2000 in AREA 2, Pennsylvania, where the opportunity to either direct a church group or disband was presented.  Directing was the only real option.  She gained valuable exposure and directing skills at an AREA 2 festival in Kutztown, Pennsylvania and has been directing in church choirs in Pennsylvania and in Kansas.

Becky is a member of Handbell Musicians of America in Area 8.
